The bullshit of the week begins effortlessly
The printed word declares fear on the world
And at some point we feel the accountability
Close our eyes so we can play hunger games
While the obese stuff their muffle in protest
Dear God give me the strength to know you
Above agendas tripping all over themselves
Beyond all the seductions of his entitlements
Into the season of Your mercy and Your song
Because love is all that I seem to recognise
The rest is not for me.

A much needed prayer when the world seems to be shaped by hate rather than love…

The poem began a while back and its completion came right through me as a prayer in the morning. The world has so much love and beauty and it would be marvelous if the news were motivated by it. I could say more but the poem says it best for me. 😀

A fine prayer. I usually utter only prayers of gratitude, but right now I think begging for a future shaped by love rather than fear is the right prayer.

I am glad that you think so Jane. Only prayers of gratitude, that is indeed inspiring in times like these. I hear in your poetry about seeds and nature and love and it sounds as though you are truly well. I trust that you are. I wish you a good night.

I used to follow politics closely and at some point became demoralized. Freezing in our tracks is not the answer, I know, so now I try to make a difference on a more individual level, through blogging mostly. I have to believe encouraging women, coaxing creativity, and building community will help the world on broader scale somehow.

I was never into politics and I remain the same. That is a good way to go about life I think. You are an inspiring woman and I am glad to be a part of your journey as you are part of mine. Thank you for visiting. Have a good night. 🙂
