Dear Tish, sometimes the very things that we think of as negative; those things or situations that we want to remove or change; they are the very things that are trying to teach us something about ourselves, each other, our society, our world.
We are reminded so many times to slow down and choose love. I remember an Oprah Winfrey episode, a very long time ago, where she spoke of these appeals for us to listen. These appeals first arrive as whispers for us to pay attention.
This is probably one of my most layered poems, yet it is short and direct at the same time. It touches upon many themes.
Thank you so much for taking the time out once again. I appreciate your ability to give encouraging and constructive feedback.
Also, I have not forgotten about your book. Where there is a will, there is a way. 🙂

Yes, one probably does the most growing from the worst moments in our lives. It’s hard to see any positive outcome in the moment, but through paying attention, as you say, we do eventually arrive at a better place, armed with insights, and some wisdom. Your writing is super-charged. I won’t claim to understand all your layers, but I know they are there, and are meaningful.

I did it. I got it. I can now read your book called Losing Kui. I will keep you posted. 🙂 I think that it is the layers and the context that give the poems energy. What is unsaid. I learn something new about writing each day. 🙂
